Early Support Hub
Early Intervention Mental Health and Wellbeing Support
Our Early Support Hub delivers early intervention mental health and wellbeing support to groups of young people aged 11-25 in a variety of locations across Sheffield.
-
The Early Support Hub delivers easy access, early intervention mental health support to young people aged 11-25 without the need for a referral.
Funded by the Department for Health and Social Care, the Early Support Hub is one of 24 Hubs embedded in local communities across England.
-
Working closely with community groups, schools and colleges, we deliver a series of sessions focused on raising awareness of mental health issues, signposting to appropriate avenues of support, breaking down stigma attached with mental health, and normalising the conversation.
We use accessible, familiar venues at the heart of local communities, alongside our central hub Star House, to connect with young people in the spaces where they feel most comfortable.
Our core session offer comprises of 6× 1-hour sessions, with an optional addition of up to 6 bonus sessions focused on specialist topics.
-
Our aim is to ensure all young people have a safe space to share and learn about mental health challenges. By equipping young people with the appropriate language and tools sooner, we can prevent mental health issues escalating or reaching crisis point.
Through group work, we focus on building awareness and education of mental health, providing coping strategies, and normalising the correlation between social issues and mental health.
-
The sessions are designed for groups of any young people aged 11-25. No prior mental health or wellbeing issues need to have been identified; the purpose of the sessions is to intervene before issues escalate.
We work directly with schools, colleges and community groups, tailoring the support to suit their needs. To enquire about the Early Support Hub delivering in your community, please email us today.
